Right Laksa. Wrong Beer.

Bass premium ale.
William Bass & Co have been brewing beer since 1777. Impressive yes! The beer though, not great. The lable on the bottle goes so far as to say. "A consistently perfect beer." Among other things. My impression was of an ale dull brown in colour, with a small and fadeing grainy head. Aroma was almost absent, only a faint malt and molasses nose was apparent. Texture was grainy, lacking in body, and slightly dry. On the tounge were bland malt flavors with only the faintest early hopped bitterness with no florals detectable. The finnish was uneventful leaveing the palet with a watered down feeling. Lastly an English beer should arive in an English sized pint (568ml) not the crappy Euro 500ml size. Not happy.

Laksa Noodles (Udon). With Squid & prawn.
Laksa Soup. Shark & Squid.

Laksa, for all those who don't know. Is a coconut based curry with loads of lemon grass and corriander. Chillis, tamarind, and tumeric are also added for a refreshing flavor. A lot of laksas contain fryed tofu and omlet of cicken egg. That wasnt done here, mostly coz I didn't have any. But I did bung in a bit of tomato...
